Is a child on your gift list hearing impaired? Perhaps you know an eager learner wants to learn sign language. Maybe you have enjoyed the baby sign language craze.

Children's books in print and sign language are fun, yet educational gifts. I will be adding to this list as the season progresses. Check back often for lots of ideas.

Considerations When Choosing / Using a Book in Sign

  • Be aware that some books show Signed English signs while others show ASL.
  • Pictures of signs (actions) are sometimes difficult to show so that the lay person can learn the sign.
  • Consider the age of the recipient when choosing the title.
  • Remember to use your voice and signs simultaneously when reading the book to maximize auditory input.
